Sulaiman Abu Ghaith

A Kuwaiti high school religion teacher in his mid 30's, Abu Ghaith left his teaching job after the 2000 school year to join al Qaida in Afghanistan and serve as its spokesman. **RF2** He formerly preached at a Kuwaiti mosque until he was banned for criticizing its 1962 constitution, stating that only strict shariah is the only law that Muslims should follow.**RF3** Coming to prominence after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Abu Ghaith was stripped of his Kuwaiti citizenship in October 2001.**RF3**
